Deep Sea fishing charters in Ft. Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

And now we find ourselves in August and along the edges and in the vicinity of the near shore reefs continue to be a good choice for anglers looking for good action. These areas are especdially good choices for families with children and a trip off the edge and into the deeper waters of the Gulfstream have the possibility of making for a long day. And besides trolling the near shore reefs for Kings, Bonito, Tuna and an occasional Mahi in water from 100 to 150 feet in depth we have been targeting some bottom fish as you can see represented by the photos of fat Mutton Snappers and Tilefish taken by anglers here aboard the Marlin My Darlin. There has been some Sailfish activity around those reefs in water less than 150 feet.

Warm weather here but thankfully not ridiculously hot if you are an out of towner reading this report. A bit more rain this past few days with an occasional doozy now but most continue to be isolated and moving by quickly, and we can dodge many.

Even though the temperature is frequently short of 90 the "feels like" is well into the 90s, but a nice southeasterly wind of around 12 knots is taking the edge off of that somewhat. Current conditions are light and tending to be slightly south.
