Robert Muzich along with Dennis and Syl from Toronto, Canada chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is their second fishing experience with us – two years ago they did their homework and chose the Topshotfishing team for their fishing expedition, where they caught a Sailfish and a Dusky Shark – they returned this year for the same great experience.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water by the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. Due to our extreme drop off, if you venture off another ¼ of a mile, you would find yourself in 500 ft. of water.

We started out trolling with two #8 plainers down both with sea witches and double hooked Bonito strips. For top baits, we went with Bonito strips. We trolled the reefs, and caught one Barracuda. There was very little current, and with no or little current, it makes fishing very slow. As we trolled around, I noticed a rip forming in 350 ft. of water with current. We set out two kites with two live Goggle Eyes from each kite as the Canadians discussed business and enjoyed Fort Lauderdale's beautiful weather. Right short!!! Dorsal out of the water!!! as the black shadow made his appearance with bill out of the water and showing his aggression towards the live Goggle Eye – hooked up!!! The Sailfish came out of the water doing an acrobatic show. Syl was our angler and brought the Sailfish to the side of the boat. Date, our mate, wired the Sailfish – pictures were taken and the Sailfish was released to fight again. Great job, Sal.

With happy anglers aboard the boat, it was time to head back to the dock. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
