🎣 Deep Sea Fishing Fort Lauderdale – June Fishing Highlights Aboard "Happy Day Today"
The summer bite is on 🔥 and June has been one of our most productive months for deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale. With calm seas, light breezes, and a steady migration of pelagic fish, each charter has brought excitement, great memories, and coolers full of action.

🐟 Randy's Wedding Party – Kings, Bonita, and Bottom Fishing Surprise

Randy, his two daughters, and their wedding party from Wisconsin joined us for a half-day Fort Lauderdale fishing charter aboard the 52' Hatteras "Happy Day Today". The morning greeted us with a gentle ocean breeze from the east 🌤️ and 1 to 2-foot seas—perfect conditions for trolling the reef.
As soon as we got lines in the water in 80 feet, the conditions screamed "fishy." 💥 Not five minutes into the troll, the deep planner line snapped tight, and the reel started screaming. Randy was up first, and after a solid battle on the rod, he brought in a 20-pound King Mackerel—our first catch of the day! 👑
From there, the reef lit up. We trolled between 90 and 200 feet of water and stayed busy the whole morning. The Kingfish were stacked up, and we caught six big ones, all between 15 and 20 pounds. Mixed in were four Bonita—fast, aggressive fish that gave Randy's daughters a run for their money and some great laughs onboard. 😄
To end the day, we switched gears and hit a nearby shipwreck for some bottom fishing. Randy hooked into a solid Grouper, which made for a great light-tackle fight. One of his daughters added a beautiful flag Yellowtail Snapper to the box to finish the trip strong. ✅
🎯 From trolling the reef to fishing the wrecks, Fort Lauderdale deep sea fishing gave this wedding crew the full experience!

🦈 Heather's Crew from Boston – Kings, Bonita, and a Shark Encounter

Heather, her son, and his girlfriend flew in from Boston and booked a Fort Lauderdale deep sea fishing charter to explore what the South Florida waters had to offer. With another perfect June day on tap, we geared up for trolling the reef in search of King Mackerel and Bonita.
We started fishing a reef edge that pushes out and creates swirling current eddies—ideal ambush territory for predators. On our first pass, one of the reels got smoked. This fish took off like a rocket, but unfortunately broke us off after a wild run. 🎣 That's fishing—sometimes the big ones win!
We quickly rebaited and got right back on the spot. The Kings started biting again, and we landed a few solid ones. 🎯 The Bonitas were also active, providing plenty of line-peeling runs and great action. After several fish in the box, Heather's son asked if we could try for something big—real big.
So, we broke out the heavy Shark gear and rigged up three bloody baits with circle hooks and wire leaders. 🩸 The scent trail drifted down the reef, and after about 40 minutes, one of the reels clicked slowly… then faster… and faster. It was game time.
Heather's son hooked the Shark, and the fight was on! 🦈 This fish put on a show with power runs and serious drag-screaming energy. After a long battle, we brought it by boat-side, removed the hook, and released it safely back into the ocean. An unforgettable end to an action-packed day on the water!
📍 For families looking for a variety of action, from reef species to apex predators, deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale never disappoints.

🐬 Mark's Aviation Crew – Offshore Mahi Mahi and a Wreck Surprise

Mark and two coworkers from their aviation company joined us for a half-day Fort Lauderdale offshore fishing charter, looking to target Mahi Mahi. These colorful gamefish have been showing up in small schools just 3–4 miles offshore, making them an easy run for a big reward.
We deployed a full spread—deep planner lines, ballyhoo rigs, and teasers—and trolled into a rip line at around 600 feet of water, where floating seaweed and current edges stacked up. 🌊 The first hit came quick—a rigger snapped and a beautiful Mahi danced across the surface. One fish quickly turned into another, and then a double header!
The bite stayed consistent, and we ended the troll with 8 Mahi Mahi, each one putting up an acrobatic fight. 🐟 These are the trips you dream about—blue water, scattered weed lines, and hungry Dolphins.
With time left, we switched things up and headed to a nearby wreck. Kyle dropped down a live bait rig, and it didn't take long—BOOM! A freight train of a fish took off. Mark battled it like a pro, and after an epic fight, we landed a 60-pound Amberjack—a beast from the bottom! 💪 After a quick pic, we released it safely.
Whether offshore or over wrecks, Fort Lauderdale fishing charters offer both variety and trophy potential.

🐟 Todd's Idaho Crew – Reef Trolling Madness

Todd and his friends traveled from Idaho and joined us for a deep-sea fishing charter in Fort Lauderdale, ready to chase whatever was biting. With a solid Kingfish and Bonita bite going on the reef, we got started in 100 feet of water and worked our way out to 400, targeting the drop-off where these fish patrol during their seasonal migration.
The deep planner lines were key, digging down 50–60 feet to where the King Mackerel were staging. 🎯 Once the planner tripped, it was go time. Todd and his crew took turns on the rods, battling 15–20 pound Kings while Kyle stayed busy resetting lines and gaffing fish. 🪝
The Bonitas were hammering both the deep and surface lines, offering non-stop action. By the end of the trip, we had 6 King Mackerel and 4 Bonita in the box—plenty of fish, adrenaline, and smiles to go around.
🧭 The beauty of Fort Lauderdale deep sea fishing is how close the action is—just a short ride out and the bite is on!
