Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

We had a great day of dolphin fishing today during the 2018 Engineering Association Fishing Tournament. It was a rainy day, raining almost constantly the entire time we were out there. We just went out there trolling 100-400ft of water and the dolphin were just everywhere. We caught them steadily throughout the day, one right after the other. All in all, we ended up catching 21 dolphin, plus some nice blackfin tunas. The dolphin were all schoolie sized, ranging from 5-8 pounds. They were biting strips and rigged ballyhoo baits with seawitches. The tunas were biting small natural feathers and sppons. It was a wet and rainy day, but the fishing was awesome. You can't discard the day if the weather isn't cooperative for you. The rainy, choppy days are the best days for fishing. The general rule is, the worse the weather, the better the fishing. We're sailing all week this week. If you can come or you have any questions about the trip, call us anytime. Sea ya on the water.
