Early Spring Fishing In Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks
March 14, 2021
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here and this week we have a good report about the spring time fishing that is approaching Fort Lauderdale as you read this report right now. Spring time in Fort Lauderdale is one of the best times of the year to go deep sea fishing there are plenty of options of different fish to catch during this time. You can stay on the reef for most species but you could also venture offshore for something different like daytime sword fishing, mahi mahi and more. This week the best bite has been on sailfish, the sailfish are migrating south and coming through Fort Lauderdale right now, this week we have been doing very well on the sailfish fishing with live bait preferably live goggle eyes, while doing so we are using a fishing kite which is a preferred method of fishing for these great gamefish, the purpose of the kite is to keep the bait right on the surface splashing around like an injured baitfish and hopefully get a sailfish attention, while kite fishing there are plenty of other species that will try to eat your live bait as well like tuna, king mackeral, as well as mahi mahi, and also wahoo. Kite fishing in fort Lauderdale is a great way to target many different species as well as see a visual strike on your bait. Also this week the trolling In the late afternoons has been very good for blackfin tuna we have been catching them on the surface with small squid lures as well as on our deeper lines fishing planners. There has been some king mackeral starting to show up as well on the edge of the reef to. Shark fishing has been very productive this week as well and a great way to pull on something large plenty of hammerhead sharks as well as tiger and bull sharks are migrating through Fort Lauderdale as well. Last but not least wreck fishing will begin to pick up for amberjack as well as a variety of other tasty bottom fish like vermillion snapper and snowy grouper. We have some great photos this week of some great catches. We do have some availability coming up so if your in the Fort Lauderdale area and looking to do some deep sea fishing now is the time. We should continue to see more and more fish arriving daily though-out the month of march. Last but not least remember to follow us on social media platforms like instagram and facebook @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos, reports and pictures. Tight lines Capt.
