Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Nov 16
Today we got a last min trip at the end of the day with Lucas from Boca Raton, Brain from Fort Lauderdale, Dave from Stuart and Rick from parts unknown.
It was Mahi Mahi that they wanted so off shore we went trolling.
I am sorry to say that the Mahi were far and few in-between but we did manage to catch a couple along with one barracuda.
Guys sorry the Mahi were just not biting today but we will make it up to you next time.

This morning we fished with Jason from Santa Fe New Mexico and Mark from Albuquerque New Mexico.
This morning we went right to kite fishing with 4 live baits suspended from the kites.
Truth being told fishing was slow but we did catch a Mahi and than all of a sudden BAM a big sailfish jumped on there.
It was a good 20 min back and forth tug a war but at last Jason got this nice 87-inch sailfish to the boat.
Talk about a game saver!!
Thanks again Jason and Mark looking forward to fishing together again next year.

Today we set out fishing with Sam and Jeff from Illinois, Brenda from Kentucky, Mark from Baltimore and Scott from South Carolina.
Fishing once again was on the slow side today so we tried some trolling on the reef and we also kite fished.
We ended up catching 3 Mahi Mahi while kite fishing and trolled caught us 2 small black fin tunas and 1 giant horse eyed jack.
Once again thanks guys you all were a blast to fish with and were looking forward to fishing again.

Today Tina and Alos from Colorado thought they would try their luck at some deep-sea fishing off the coast of fort Lauderdale.
We picked up some live bait on our way out and went right to kite fishing.
Things started out slow with only 1 bonito falling for our trap. BUT all of a sudden this monster sailfish popped up Alos jumped in the chair and the fight was on!!
Alos would gain a little than the sail would take it right back out back and forth this went on for a good 20 min till finally Alos finally got his sailfish to the side of the boat.
Nice going Alos!!

Today we had great day fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale with Gene from South Carolina, Tom and Tracy from Ohio and Clive from Pack land.
Once again we went right to kite fishing and today kite fishing was red hot.
We ended up catching 3 Mahi Mahi, 1 silky shark, 1 hammerhead shark and 1 monster sailfish.
NOW THAT'S A GOOD MORINING OF DEEP SEA FISHING OFF FORT LAUDERDALE!!
Thanks again to all of our anglers today it was a blast!

Today we had our old friend Jack from Holland fishing with us along with his close friends Mac and Petra also from Holland.
Today the trip was based on trying to catch some fish for a fish fry later this evening and also to try to catch Petra her first shark.
We started out trolling around but trolling only yielded us one black fin tuna.

Ok time for plane B so in came the trolling gear and out went the kites with live and dead bait suspended from them along with 1 shark bait set down deep and also a chicken rig (Chicken rig is 5 hooks in a row with a lead at the bottom) to try to catch some snappers.
While the snapper fishing was slow we did manage to catch 4 nice tilefish. You put that with the small tuna we caught and BAM you got dinner.

But the kite fishing caught Petra 2 small silky sharks in fact I got a feeling that we had caught the same one twice.
However when the deep shark rod bent over I knew we had what Petra was looking for on the other end.

This was a big back and forth battle with Petra doing all she could just to hang on to the rod! But she hung in there and at last she reeled in this 7-foot hammerhead shark.
YES we got what we were looking for!!
Thanks again Jack, Mac and Petra and we'll see you again in a few months.

Well here we are at the very end of November 2013 and while my crew did a great job catching fish today and writing down what they caught we never did get any of our anglers names.
We caught a real nice Wahoo along with a nice kingfish some bonitos and sailfish.
However they did get a couple pictures of the fish.

Sorry we forgot to get every ones names but I guess every one got caught up in the good fishing?

More Fishing Reports:

Hi my name is Taco and I run one of the best charter fishing boats down here in South Florida. WHY? Because I’ve been fishing the waters down here since 1969 and I started at the bottom and worked my way up the ladder. I know what it is like to read a web site and than once you get to boat things are not as you thought they would be. Not here I say it like it is. No surprises. I’ve got a 45 foot Hatteras with a big cock pit. Fully aircondishened and refrigerated. Big comfortable platform.
