February Deep Sea Fishing In Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood

Capt. Vinnie Sacks
February 6, 2023
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, this week I have a pretty good report for you guys and gals so here it is, This week right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale the afternoon fishing has been probably the best bet right now lots of blackfin tuna has been the main culprit, these blackfin tuna have been biting around 170 to 300 feet of water, the best way to target them as of late has been trolling, fishing smaller sized baits has been the best choice as well as fishing baits under the surface using a planner to take the bait down deep into the strike zone. For some reason anything pink has been the ticket for the tuna, we have been getting some really nice sized tuna this week some upwards of 15lbs we also have been getting a few kingfish in the late afternoons as well. As far as morning fishing right now has been somewhat slow there has been a few wahoo early and a few tuna also, the best bet for morning fishing right now has been bottom fishing for snapper, there has been some very nice sized vermillion snappers and a few mutton snapper on some of our deeper bottom fishing spots right now. Fishing small pieces of cut bait on multiple hook rigs has been the ticket but seems this week that your not able to catch a bunch of snapper on 1 spot only a few bites per spot but if you are persistent you can keep hitting spot after spot you can put a nice catch together. Overall this week I would expect to see some big game sharks starting to make there way towards us very very soon and we should start to see some very good sailfish action as well. On days that there is current wreck fishing for large amberjacks has been very good. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos we have of some recent catches while out on our deep sea fishing charters, and remember to give us a follow on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. We do have some availability this week for a deep sea fishing charter so if you are looking to get out fishing we would love to have you!! Should have a new report up soon so be on the look out. More later... Capt. Vinnie 954 559 4700
