Mark and Tilly John from Houston, Texas chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mark called me up numerous times discussing the weather and questioning me on when would be the best time for him to catch a Sailfish. I suggested to Mark that now is a good time, as we had been catching Sailfish this whole week.

With just Mark and Tilly on board, we stopped at T&T Bait to purchase live Goggle Eyes for bait. Ten minutes later we were located in 150 ft. of water north of Fort Lauderdale on a color change - a likely avenue for the predator to make his appearance. We set out two kites with two live Goggle Eyes on each kite and waited for his arrival. Right short!!!! As the Sabretooth Tiger of the Sea, a Barracuda, grabbed the live Goggle Eye. Tilly fought the Barracuda – pictures were taken and the fish was released.

We set up again and continued on our mission. We caught a couple of Kingfish and also had a few missed bites. It was getting close for the fat lady to sing. With no sightings of Sailfish and ten minutes left in the charter, the fish gods looked down at us and a Sailfish appeared on the right short. Sailfish!!! – as he exited the water showing his spectacular neon colors. This was Mark's dream fish. After a twenty-five-minute battle, the Sailfish was brought to the boat for picture taking and was released to fight again.

With a smile from ear to ear on Mark's face, it was time to head back to the dock. Mike accomplished his mission and dream – good job Mike!!! It was time to head back to the dock. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the
dock at Bahia Bar located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316 .
