Good fishing and good weather on fishing charters in Fort Lauder

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

We continue to enjoy exceptionally clear weather and good catches on many of our fishing charters in Fort Lauderdale. Zero rain for us for four days now despite the weathermen calling for a 30% chance of showers, which is a typical precipitation forecast for this time of year. Very light breeze to go with that sun so the sea conditions have been very nice. And for the most part the fish have been cooperating and offering reasonable numbers right out front of our inlet.

We continue to focus on the areas of from 100 to 250 feet of water on many of our charters.
The main reef line parallel to shore here in roughly 100 to 120 feet of water has been holding bait fish well when there is a bit of current and the larger fish have been been right in there with them. A slow offshore turn coming off those reefs as we have mentioned before puts you quickly in 200 to 250 foot depths. Calm seas and clear skies on warm days very often mean that the deeply fished braided planer lines will draw a lot of attention and that has continued to ring true again this past week.

Kingfish, Blackfin Tunas and the False Albacore (Bonito) in the depths mentioned. We continue to see some Sailfish activity and there are better chances at Wahoo now as we move into the 2nd half of September. All of this activity has been taking place in the water mentioned of less than 250 feet in depth which here off of Ft. Lauderdale puts that fishing well within a couple of miles of shore. As always we have included some photos of anglers who have joined us for a fishing charter here aboard the Marlin My Darlin.

Tight lines and good fishing from all of us here (Rick, Mat6t, Tommy K and Cameron). See you on the rip.
