Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Many fishing trips in Fort Lauderdale are done as birthday gifts or celebrations. While many are for kids, today's fishing trip was for Ken (Jack Benny style age 39) arranged by his wife Lisa. Also aboard was his daughter Lizzy and friends Sarge, Ray and Dee. They showed up ready and eager for their day fishing on the water.
Bonitos and a few Kingfish has been the norm lately and trolling has been the best way to catch them. Trolling also creates a breeze in our summer heat, which is always welcome. How things went is kind of a blur since the mate Chris kept calling out "Fish on" as I was engaged in conversation on the bridge with various people in the group.
Some nice sized Bonito were caught as well as a small Blackfin Tuna. And a few Kingfish as well, one very nice sized that Lizzy caught. A semi-pro snowboarder, she was in excellent shape and I noticed a bit of a quiver in her arms towards the end of the battle. The picture I chose is early on while she was still smiling.

Everyone caught a fish or two. Ray catching the smallest, the Blackfin, all joked how he must be exhausted. Well, joke on folks, his was the best tasting, that's for sure. And Dee was delighted with her King, even though it wasn't quite the size of Lizzy's.
All in all a very fun trip for both guests and crew.
A fishing trip on your birthday in Fort Lauderdale can make for a great time with friends and family.
