Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, good report this week so lets get right to it, this week fishing has been somewhat productive but we find ourself doing a very good amount of bottom fishing this week because trolling tends to be somewhat slower, Nice sized mutton snappers have been biting very well on the deeper reefs and wrecks as well as a few grouper, the current has been light and the wind has been very light also so that gives for pretty much picture perfect conditions for bottom fishing in Fort Lauderdale. Trolling on the reef has been productive but seems that the kingfish have disappeared but there is plenty of action still with bonito and blackfin tuna and also the occasional wahoo has been around. Moving offshore the name of the game is still mahi mahi, there has been plenty of seaweed as well as floating debris around and if you can find anything like that it is guaranteed mahi, live bait has been key for the dolphin right now pilchards have been best. The mahi have been averaging around 10lbs give or take. There also has been some good bottom fishing in the deep as well when the current is light, blackberry rose fish, golden tilefish, and barrel fish have been biting fairly well offshore all which are fantastic to eat. This week we have some great photos of some recent catches aboard our fishing charters so please be sure to check those out. We do have availability for the next few weeks of September so if you are coming to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing please be sure to check us out, Remember to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content...
