Bob Rodriguez from Fort Lauderdale, along with his friends, Steve, Joe, and another Steve, chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As the anglers boarded the boat and were welcomed by the Topshotfishing team, I asked them what type of fish they were interested in catching – "fish for the dinner table" was their response.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. If you venture off another ¼ of a mile, you will find yourself in 500 ft. of water due to our extreme drop off. We started off trolling with two #8 plainers down – one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a pink and blue sea witch in front of a double hooked Bonito strip. For surface baits with went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips.

As I zig-zagged in and out over some of our 34 artificial reefs, the anglers took turns bring in their catches for a total of 12 Kingfish, one Tuna, one Mahi Mahi and one Bonito – a good variety for the dinner table tonight.

It was time to head back to the dock at Bahia Bar located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock. While at the dock, Dave, our mate, fillet out their catch for tonight's dinner.
