Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

April 1
Well Dennis and Richard were no "April Fools" by charter fishing Fort Lauderdale. We mostly trolled today and banged out 5 nice kingfish and missed plenty more more. We also caught one nice blackfin tuna and 3 bonitas, lots of action for just two guys.
April 2
The bonita blitz was on today for Scott, Danielle, Alex and Howard from Chicago. Everyone was new to the sport and couldn't believe the strength and speed of these great gamefish. I believe we ended up with 8 or 10 along with a couple of king fish.

April 3
Yo Adrian, today we had big Rocky and Lucy from New York who had their hands full of rods and fish all day on their Fort Lauderdale fishing charter. The king fish and bonitas were SNAPPIN. As fast as we could get baits in the water we were getting bites. Im glad you guys had such a great day.
In the afternoon Mike, TJ and Chris from Boston pulled out a nice wahoo, half a dozen king fish and 4 bonitas on their fort Lauderdale fishing adventure.

April 3
Well the king fish and bonitas slowed down and it was a tough go for Mike, Austin, Joel and Paul on their fishing nice kings. So with it getting late in the trip we settled for some tasty tilefish. I believe we got almost a dozen, plenty to make a fine meal, along with a couple of nice snapper to boot.
The afternoon was a whole different ballgame. Robert, Brandon, Kim, Ramona and Chris crushed the fish on their afternoon sportfishing trip. We trolled South and pulled off a huge 35 pound kingfish at the boat. But that was ok because a mile later we caught a 50#er that made in the box on ice. A tight turn later we had a rare treat on the troll with a nice mutton snapper on one of the deep lines. We picked at four kings on the way to a grouper spot and pulled out a nice one and then caught a bonita on the way home. What a great afternoon.

April 4th
Its only getting better! Darryl, Rebecca, Lisa, jerry and Robert all from Maine, banged up the mahi with an even dozen all nice ones. We found a pallet floating in about 600 feet of water that was just loaded with bait and fish. We caught a few on the troll but pulled the rest out on light spinning gear. We also found five nice kings and 5 bonitas.

April 6
Mark, Scotty, Rich and Matt got their mahi on today with ten nice ones. You've got to love the mahi mahi or dolphin or whatever you want to call them. When they are there they are aggressive eaters, beautiful and down right tasty on the table. Great Job Guys!!

April 8th
Sport fishing ft lauderdale with us today was Jerry, Dominica, Frank and Fred from New York. The fish were again mahi mahi we only got three this morning but they were all nice ones. In the afternoon Paul, Bruce and Greg from North Carolina caught five nice mahi and a blackfin tuna, great way to end the day.

April 11
Daniel, Michelle, Charity and Liz from Fort Lauderdale caught some kingfish and bonitas along with a few snappers.
April 12
Fishing Fort Lauderdale all the way from New York was James, Nona, Kevin and Mark, who all had a great experience. With beautiful weather we fished north today with the mild wind and waves at our back. Three nice mahi mahi joined us in the boat along with a couple of kings and a giant trophy barracuda.
April 14
Peter and Ed had their hands full today fishing Fort Lauderdale. We trolled just long enough to catch two nice king fish, only to cut them into big shark baits. Once the baits were deployed it did not take long for the bite from the 8 foot monster but it did take the boys almost the remainder of the trip to reel it in. But what a nice fish.

April 15th
IRON MAIDEN fans from the great white north Marty and Kevin, braved huge hangovers and small seas to fish Fort Lauderdale. Huge fans with the tattoos and stories to prove they follow the band all over the world. Fishing was great with a load of bonitas and a few kings.
April 16th
Tony and Ann from the great state of Texas pulled out huge Sailfish from our Fort Lauderdale waters for some great photos before release. They also caught a handful of bonitas for icing on the cake.
April 19th
Fishing was a little slow today for Tony and Johanna with just one kingfish and 2 bonitas. Boy we sure tried though. We trolled dropped and even did some live baiting, sometimes you just cant win.

April 21st
Ah yes, one of my favorite customers and good friend Buffalo Bill brought his extremely well behaved and good mannered children fishing. We started at the "bait hole" and caught a couple pinfish and a couple of jack crevelle.
Our day was already made, the kids were having a blast. We ran straight to a wreck I knew was holding some amberjacks and started dropping. First up was Miss Elle who by the way caught a 50 # amberjack all by herself with just a little help, next Billy caught a big jack, then it was Madman Charlie with a huge jack and last but not least John caught a nice one as well. It's a great day when four kids catch four fish as big or bigger than they are. What a great day!

April 23rd
Carlos and Antonio from Miami had a great day sport fishing Fort Lauderdale when they hauled in a huge 90 inch sailfish, a wahoo, 2 bonitas a blackfin tuna and 1 king fish.

April 26th
Good repeat customer Mike, Brian, Matt and Sarah busted up the mahi mahi in about 500 feet of water. We caught them on the troll, on the spinners and on whatever we could get in the water, for a total of thirty. Incredible day guys.

April 29th
Mark, John, Frank, Ron and Stephen from the Fort Lauderdale area rounded out the month with 6 bonitas, 2 tunas, 2 mahi and one 50 " amberjack. Great day.

Fort Lauderdale Fishing Forecast:

Look for incredible mahi mahi action in May along with continued king fish, bonita, sharks and sailfish action.
