Fishing Fort Lauderdale / Charter Fishing
On a cloudy day with a 90% chance of rain, fishing in Fort Lauderdale would look dim but thanks to our weather service, we truly had a wonderful time on the water.
Mike was aboard with his second group and the objective was a bit different from the day before. Not entirely though, catching fish was still number one concern.
Kingfish were biting fairly well and we caught 7, missing a few others along the way fairly quickly.
While we were able to avoid the rain, our trip off shore into deeper water was cut short by a storm off shore and as we returned closer to the coast, a small Blackfin Tuna joined us in the box. Things had slowed some and the fish weren't cooperating well at this point so Matt cut the Tuna up and hors d' oeuvres were served. Some soy sauce, wasabi, Tuna and Kingfish made a nice sushi plate, as can be seen in this picture.
Had I not been quick, I would have missed the feast, luckily they passed the plate up at the last minute.
Even with the lousy forecast, fishing in Fort Lauderdale can be a great time.
