Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

With temperatures in the mid 20's and snow on the ground, Mr Bluchette from Quebec, Canada with family and friends, chartered the Happy Day Today to do some deep sea fishing with the Topshotfishing team. Temperatures in Fort Lauderdale FL in the mid 70's, was a welcome change for the Bluchette family for their holiday get-away.
A request was made for Mahi Mahi, so I headed out to one of our artificial wrecks that sits in 380 ft. of water off of Fort Lauderdale FL. With this in mind, I circled the wreck and wound up with a couple of Black Fin Tunas, which are excellent for Sushi or grilling. I headed further south and found some debris floating (tree branches). Any type of debris floating is a good haven for bait fish and the predators are lurking close by. As we circled the debris, our first bite was from the right rigger which was a 6 lb. Mahi Mahi. Our deep line rod bent over and the angler reeled in an 18 lb. Saber Tooth Barracuda, which was released. I continued to work the area, finding more debris, and we caught more Mahi Mahi's, the biggest being a 14 pounder caught by the daughter, Auberry.
With a good catch of fish on the charter boat Happy Day, it was time to start heading back. This ends another successful and adventurous deep sea fishing charter on the Happy Day Today with the Topshotfishing team and Captain Zsak - 954-439-8106 – www.topshotfishing.com
