Fort Lauderdale Fishing on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Winds out of the east, southeast at 12-15 mph - our blue water pushed in all the way to the second reef off of Fort Lauderdale FL. The Garden family from Quebec Canada chartered the Happy Day Today with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea fishing off of Fort Lauderdale FL.
Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in the water at the sea buoy sitting in 120 ft. of water off of Fort Lauderdale FL. We had two plainers down, both with sea witches and double hook Bonito strips. For surface baits we went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips with sea witches in front and a jap feather down the center. As I started trolling the reef, catching a couple of small Kingfish and a Barracuda, I headed off shore. I could see in a distance a slick in the water. The slick was running from east to west – I knew the slick was caused from the sargassum weed floating in it. As I got closer to it, I could see some birds working the weed line. Our first fish was a Mahi Mahi on the surface bait, followed by another Mahi Mahi on the plainer rod. We kept picking through the weeds and catching Mahi Mahi's, which will be served as diner for the Garden's tonight.
With nine fish in the fish box, it was time to head back. For a successful and adventurous deep sea fishing charter in South Florida for Sailfish, Shark, Bonito, Mackerel, Swordfish, Snapper, Wahoo and Grouper contact Captain Zsak. - 954-309-7457 or email us at www.topshotfishing.com
