Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fort Lauderdale Daily fishing report
Wednesday November 18, 2009
Fishing in Fort Lauderdale doesn't need to take all day. A quick trip today with Peter and Kim proved that. With just 3 hours from start to finish, the day had mostly non stop action. I attribute this to the luck of our guests, they attribute it to our skill. Maybe a little of both?
With time being short, we began trolling as soon as we crossed the reef line. Just a few minutes north of the Port Everglades Sea Buoy we caught our first Kingfish. Since these fish usually school, another pass produced another bite and within just 40 minutes had captured our limit and we were off in search of other action.
With a change in our gear, we headed out to deeper waters and found some scattered grass around 560'. We began working the area and had a strike. A nice sized Dolphin was taken and dinner would be served. A little more time spent trolling this area and we were able to catch another 3 Dolphin, all small gaffers, and a small Tuna we released. And just as quick as it began, our time was up and we headed back to the dock.
It was a great day with some great people. I just love it when a plan comes together…
