Ft. Lauderdale fishing charters

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Once again we are experiencing beautiful weather here for our Ft. Lauderdale fishing charters. Almost cloudless skies with lots of sun and very little wind. The Winter seasonal weather is certainly not here as of yet. A brief cool snap or two and we are right back to almost 85 early in the afternoon. All of this beautiful weather lately has toughened up the bite for us and we are covering lots of area and surface and bottom fishing to get our bites.

The Kingfish have slowed considerably the last few days. We are managing a few but they are tough. There are some Wahoo around as well but once again we expected more with this moon. An occasional really nice Mahi right up on the reef but you must be lucky to be on the X when these few fish move through, mostly in pairs. Positive news is that there are decent sized Vermillion Snappers biting pretty well in the slightly deeper water offshore. And we have caught a couple of Black Grouper pushing 20 pounds which are of course always welcome aboard the Marlin My Darlin. And there are a few Sailfish around as the nice sized catch and release fish in the photo by Johnathan on a half day fishing charter with his friend Jane.

Enjoy this weather (while it seems so much of the country is downright cold) and tight lines this weekend. Put that deep line out there and maybe a nice Wahoo will make your day.
