Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

And yet another month passes by as we bring you an end of October Ft. Lauderdale fishing report to close out our posts for deep sea fishing in our area this month. Some good catches mixed in with some slower days offshore have made for a typical October. A fair number of Mahi-Mahi have shown and many of those have been inside of 600/700 feet or water. Some would say the 100 fathom line, but it is not that predictable as daily conditions affect their movements more than a certain depth. Some Kings closer to shore and also some larger Wahoo and an occasional Sailfish just off the reef line. Smaller Wahoo further offshore. Some good Jacks and snappers but very few Grouper for us. Our weather has been quite comfortable with some rain as always but the "rainy" season has now officially left us as we close out October. Minimal sea conditions and very manageable current with the exception of the last moon which made bottom fishing difficult. But that stronger current often results in better opportunities at fish such as Mahi-Mahi and Tunas. Favorite current conditions here are a moderate northerly low, and we have had some good catches of Blackfin Tunas when conditions are right. Smaller fish as a rule, but welcome additions to the ice. As always we have included photos of recent anglers who have joined us here aboard Marlin My Darlin for a fishing charter in Ft. Lauderdale. So here comes November bringing changes in weather and soon a welcome end to hurricane season. So far so good there. We look forward to November fishing in Ft. Lauderdale and tight lines to everyone from all of us here @ Marlin My Darlin Sportfishing charters. See you on the rip.
