Today we set out for a couple of hour of deep-sea fishing aboard the Hooked up off the coast of Fort Lauderdale with Garry, Kerry, Joel and Layna, all from Neodesha Kansas City.

This was also Laurence's first fishing trip aboard the Hooked Up as deck hand.
He turned out not only to be a good fisherman but a blast to fish with.
We started out trolling the reef with everyone catching some bonitos.
Than we worked our way to a wreck and set out some live baits on the wreck with Kerry and Layna each catching nice barracudas.
Guy's I want to thank you again for fishing with us aboard the Hooked Up you guys were truly a blast to fish with.

Today we set out fishing with John and Katie from Minnesota and from Jupiter Florida.
We went right to trolling on the reef with 2 planner boards running about 45 to 50 feet down and 3 baits skipping across the surface.
The bonitos were biting like mad dogs both on the deep lines and on the surface baits.
We ended up with a box full of bonitos and one nice kingfish.
Katie and John thanks again for fishing with us aboard the Hooked Up.

Today we started out with a shared charter with Leon from Columbus Ohio and Jake and Lori from Fort Worth Texas.
Once again we went to trolling on the reef with our 2-planner boards running down deep and 3 baits skipping across the surface.
And yes once again the bonitos were eating everything that hit the water along with a kingfish here and there.

As we pulled back into the dock we had our afternoon trip eager to give their luck a shot at some deep-sea fishing.
We had Blare and Nathan from Ontario Canada and we had a father and son team of Brain and Brendan from Colorado.
While the bonitos were not biting as well as they were in the morning during our trip we did still manage to catch a hand full of bonitos a nice kingfish and one dolphin fish.
Thanks again to all of our anglers for fishing with us aboard the Hooked Up.

Today we set out with fishing John and his son Anthony from Singapore and John's dad Robert and his good friend Dennis from Plantation Florida.
We started trolling the reef and yes once again we wacked the bonitos along with 6 nice kingfish.
As we worked our way to the south off the coast of Hallandale Florida we brought in all the trolling gear.
We switched over to trying to catch some small bonitos to put out as live bait over a wreck.
We did manage to set out one live bonito on the surface and one big bonito down deep.
We slowed trolled them over the wreck when all of a sudden the spinner rod with the small bonito on it took off like a rocket.
We think we might have had a big shark on but there was just no stopping this sea monster on a light spinning rod and rats it got away.
We were starting to run a bit short on time due to the fact that we were about 6 and half miles south of our inlet.
Laurence reeled up our deep rod just to check our bait and RATS it had also been bit in half.
We had to start working our way back toward home so we set out a few surface baits and started high speed trolling our way back home when all of a sudden my high line took off and we were Hooked Up again.
I seen this 25 to 30 pound dolphin fish start jumping and just like that he spit the hook. (RATS and DOUBLE RATS)
John thanks again we are looking forward to fishing with you and your son and dad soon.

More Fishing Reports:

Hi my name is Taco and I run one of the best charter fishing boats down here in South Florida. WHY? Because I’ve been fishing the waters down here since 1969 and I started at the bottom and worked my way up the ladder. I know what it is like to read a web site and than once you get to boat things are not as you thought they would be. Not here I say it like it is. No surprises. I’ve got a 45 foot Hatteras with a big cock pit. Fully aircondishened and refrigerated. Big comfortable platform.
