Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The dolphin showed up this week in good numbers. Some big mahi are biting along the weedline that has formed about 6 miles offshore. This is a litte bit early for mahi-mahi (they usually show up really good in November), but it sure is a welcome development. We caught two big bulls, together. Bulls don't normally swim together once they get big, but these ones were. We also caught another 6 nice dolphins off the same school, which were solid gaffers (8-12 pounders). All of these fish were caught in the same general area, trolling the weedline (we did find a floating bucket mixed in with the grass too, which is what they might have been hiding around more so than just the weeds). It's been solid fishing this week in Fort Lauderdale. Dolphin are biting good offshore, there's a few sailfish around... on the reef, there are some small blackfin tunas, tons of bonitos and a few kingfish. It's a great month for fishing and the catching is pretty good too! Good luck to everyone fishing this week. I'll sea ya on the water.
