Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

We left the dock at 6:30 PM with a private night fishing charter on the YB Normal out of Fort Lauderdale. We had 5 Local customers that lived right in South Florida. Out target fish for the night was snapper of any kind. At night off of Fort Lauderdale beach you can get Mutton Snappers, Mangrove Snappers, Vermlion Snappers, Yellowtail Snappers all in different depths of water. We headed out the Port Everglades inlet and decide to go north to one of my many secret spots in 160 feet of water off Fort Lauderdale beach. As I got to the spot to anchor, my fish finder began to mark a good amount of fish. It took about 15 minutes to set the anchor so the YB Normal was just in the right place for our bait to drift where the fish were. I put out a chum bag and let the chum work its magic for about 10 more minutes. My five clients began to drift thier baits back into the chum and bingo the action began. Drift after drift it seemed like the baits were getting crushed by nice size yellowtail Snappers. It was a beautiful night with the city of Fort Lauderdale lit up in the background and we were catching fish after fish. The time flew by and before we know it we had limited out on yellowtail Snappers the average size was around 2 pounds but we had some that exceeded 5 pounds . It was time to pull the anchor and head back to our dock at 1005 Seabreeze Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale beach. Everyone went home with a good amount of great eating fish and big smiles. When in Fort Lauderdale give me a call at 954-559-4700 and I can set a great private fishing charter day or night. We can do 4,6 or 8 hour trips that target all kinds of fish Dolphin, Wahoo, Sailfish, Tuna and Shark just to name a few.
