Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, man what a great week it has been lots of action this week from fish of all sizes big and small. This weeks report we are going to start offshore, for the offshore report there has been some tunas around in the early mornings and the afternoons to, I would say right now that the afternoon tuna bite has been very good as of late on the best days we are getting our limit of tuna. The tuna have been ranging from 5 to 20lbs and most coming on the troll fishing planners and smaller surface baits like feathers. If your lucky enough there has been some wahoo mixed in with the tunas, seems that the early mornings have been the best if your looking for a wahoo. We have been seeing a few mahi mahi as of late as well. Not in any real numbers but we have been getting a few on the larger size. In my opinion I think with the wind we have been having that some of these mahi we have been catching are getting blown over from the Bahamas right now .One thing that has been pretty consistent right now is sharks. There has been some large trophy game sharks right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale and they are biting. Hammerhead sharks have been the staple, all different sizes have been biting catching anything from 6 foot on up to 10 foot. All shark fishing is catch and release but that doesn't mean that its not fun to fight a giant fish, some of the larger sharks we have been catching we have been fighting for over an hour all in all its just a great way to pull on something large, and for some people it may be the biggest fish you will ever see. This week I have not been bottom fishing so as of right now I don't have an accurate bottom fishing report, but I would imagine if the conditions were right Im pretty sure you would be able to catch a few snappers to take home for dinner. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches we have been having while out on our deep sea fishing charters. Also remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like Facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. Spring fishing is in full swing in the Fort Lauderdale area although I do think right now the best trip would be an afternoon trip due to the great tuna bite we have been having but that doesn't mean that the mornings are not good either, right now if you are planning to come down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing its definitely a great time to do so and we would love to show you a great time on the water...more later
