A Great Start To March Fishing In Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks
March 9, 2023
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, this week I have a great report for you, seems that spring is getting ready to sprung and the fishing is pretty first class right now... This week in Fort Lauderdale we have been having some pretty good luck trolling right now just on the outside of the reef there has been some very nice sized tuna biting right now morning and afternoon has been pretty good, trolling baits under the surface using a planner is a great way to put baits right in the strike zone where the tuna are feeding, we have been having some beautiful blue water and the moon being full there has been some wahoo around. Wahoo are one of the fastest fish in the ocean and they are one of the best on the dinner table, just an all around fantastic fish to catch. Other then tuna and wahoo for trolling species there has been a few king mackerel in the mix and bonitos too on the shallower side of the reef. Sailfish are still plentiful right now but live bait is key to fishing for them, but you still could get lucky and catch one via trolling too. The next thing on the list this week has been bottom fishing. we have had some pretty good bottom fishing going on right now in fort Lauderdale as well, this week the wind has been very light and there has been a strong current so I have been able to anchor on a few spots to target some quality bottom fish. Larger mutton snappers have been being caught with live bait as well as a few grouper too, although grouper is out of season right now they are still a great fight. One last thing that is biting pretty good right now are sharks, catching a shark may not be everyones cup of tea but if your looking to clash with the titans and hook into something that will give you a run for your money shark fishing is the way to go, all sharks are catch and release and we are not allowed to kill them, but that doesn't mean that you can't have a fun time catching one. This week please be sure to check out some of our great pictures of some recent catches that have been caught aboard our deep sea fishing charters, also remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. As you can see this week has been filled with alot of action plenty of fish to catch and some great ones to catch and eat too, a little bit of something for everyone. Fishing should stay very consistent over the next few months so if your coming down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing please look us up we would love to show you a great day on the water... more later
