Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here and man what a great report I have for you this week, just like the title says fishing is HOT!!! Lets get right into it, this week the wind has been a huge factor making for some not so calm sea conditions, the seas have been a somewhat bigger then average but for the month of October that is the type of weather that you want in order to have some excellent fishing!! There has been a very nice bite of mahi mahi this week in depths from 200-400 feet finding birds this time of year is key all the fish have been very nice sized too, All around 10-15lbs, we have been catching most of our mahi on surface baits like seawitches and bonito strips, this week the wahoo made a nice showing for us, as we caught 2 very nice fish in the 25lb range. the wahoo we caught were on planers fished under the surface with blue spoons as well as bonito strips and seawitches, also lets not forget there has been a few nice sized blackfin tuna still around we have been catching them on smaller lures fished on the surface trolled further behind the boat then normal. Last but not least lets not forget the sailfish, this is the time of year where they start to make a showing this week we had a great deep sea fishing charter catching 2/3 on sailfish in a morning trip as well as a few mahi and kingfish. The sailfish should make an even stronger showing as we receive our first cold front of the year.
The fishing this week has been hot, great variety as well this week, I have some great photos as well so be sure to check those out also, Fort Lauderdale boat show is this week and we do have some availability this week so take advantage of the hot fishing right now, remember to like us on Facebook as well as follow us on instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing
