HOT Days But Great Fishing

Capt. Vinnie Sacks

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Down here in South Florida man has it been hot out good thing the YB Normal has ice cold AC, anyways the fishing has been excellent this week and we also had great customers this week to go along with great fishing, our friends Tom and Mike from New Jersey had chartered us a few times this week and we put them on some great fish the mahi mahi bite has been very good with some nice size average fish anywhere from 7-15lbs lots of fish in schools coming by as well we have been catching them with trolling feathers as well as rigged ballyhoos and bonito strips and seawitches, the weather here has been very hot and the ocean has been flat calm on a daily basis. While fishing with tom and mike we had caught around 12 mahi on there afternoon trip we had kept 6 for dinner and released the rest, mahi is a great tasting fish and has wonderful colors and they jump as well pretty much the perfect gamefish.

On another one of our trips we had done some trolling inshore for kingfish and bonitos with Cody and his girlfriend Brittany from Louisiana, they had booked us for an afternoon trip, Cody was looking for a trophy fish, we started out trolling the reefs and we managed to catch some nice sized kingfish we were able to catch 4 nice sized kingfish while trolling then we decided to set up for something large I had ask Cody if it was ok if we use one of our kingfish for bait they said ok, after around 35min of waiting one of our 80wide rods went off and we put Cody in the fighting chair he fought this beast for over 40 min and landed a very large shark! Just the trophy fish he was looking for we took the hooks out and released the shark for another day and headed in spirits high… This week has been great as far as fishing and weather goes we have been catching lots of variety of fish

So if your ever in south florida and looking to do a deep sea fishing charter check out the YB Normal in Fort Lauderdale we have lots of different fishing trips available to suit anyones needs!!! till next time capt. Vinnie 954 559 4700
