Hot Sailfishing

Capt. Ryan McBride
November 10, 2011
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

We have been catching good numbers of sailfish over the last couple weeks. We have had several fronts in a row churning up the ocean and making the sailfish come through in good numbers. We have been averageing 4 fish in a half day over the past week with our best full day again breaking double digits with 11. Kite fishing in blue north tide water has been the best bet.
Mixed in the same area we have had dolphin. They have been good sized fish from 5-18lbs and are a great fight on light tackle.
We have caught a few mackeral when shallower on the reef but they really haven't bothered us much. On the bottom the cobias made a really good showing with lots of shorts and a few big ones mixed in. A few muttons and a couple groupers are on the wrecks when the pelagics aren't cooperating.
Offshore there has been a good swordfish bite the problem has been the weather not allowing us to fish for them. It is hard to fish for them both day and night when it is rough so you really need to pick your days to get a hold of our fall sword bite.
