Hot weather/hot fishing

Capt. Ryan McBride
June 11, 2008
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hot weather has been the norm recently and fishing has been just as hot. Early in the day blackfin tunas have been biting and double to quad hookups have been then norm. Mixed in with the tunas are kingfish, most of the kingfish have been in the 15-30lb range which is bigger than the norm this time of year. In the past week most of the dolphin have been mostly of the throw back size with few meeting the 20" size limit, but are still fun to catch on ultralite tackle. Offshore the dolphin have been a little bigger if you can find a weed line or other floating debris. The sailfish bite over the last week has been red hot if you can find some north tide with up to 12 bites a day When the current slows the snappers and groupers have been on the wrecks. The fish are here, fishing early and late (if storms allow) have been the key to success.
