Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here hope everyone is doing well. This week fishing has been tough but I do have a report for you guys so here it is. Fishing in Fort Lauderdale this week like I stated earlier has been very very tough I mean tough! That being said we always give it 100% no matter what but it is fishing and there is no guarantee but we always give it our best! Starting offshore there has been a few quality fish around primarily wahoo, getting an early start has been the best bet and trolling sea witches and bonito strips on planers has been the best option depths of 200 feet to 500 feet have been the most productive for the wahoo. Trolling in the late afternoons before sundown has been good for blackfin tuna and small bonito using small spoons fished on planers. Also offshore sailfish have been around and live bait has been best all of the cold fronts we have been having should make the sailfish start moving south so any day we should see a large mass of fish right of the coast of Fort Lauderdale. Which is definitely something to look forward to. Bottom fishing has been productive on deeper spots around 400 feet, seems this time of year for some reason the shallower you fish the smaller the snappers, as you fish deeper and deeper the fish get bigger and bigger, like I stated earlier depths of 400 feet have been best, any type of structure in that depth has been holding very nice sized vermillion and yellow eye snapper averaging around 3lbs. The best baits for the snappers has been cut fresh squid fished on a multiple hook rig called a chicken rig. As far as inshore fishing this week there has been a few kingfish right on the edge of the reef and live bait has been best for them as well as a few bonito also. Fishing hasn't been the best this week but it should begin to improve very shortly so be on the look out for a report really soon. I do have some photos of some catches we had this week during some of our deep sea fishing charters so be sure to check those out. If you are coming down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing we would love to have you. Anyways as always beside sure to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos and reports. Tight lines Capt. Vinnie 954 559 4700
