Six alumni's of the University of Florida (Gators), Phil Newhall from St. Louis, Chris Bloomstran from St. Louis, Jay Brown from Gainesville, FL, Mike McMillian from Orlando, and Todd Michaels and Joseph Glober both locals were in Fort Lauderdale, FL from for their annual reunion and chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. With blue skies, winds out of the east at 9 mph and temperatures in the mid 80's was the setting for a perfect afternoon charter.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in the water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, FL located in 120 ft. of water. From there if you venture off another ¼ of a mile, it puts you in 500 ft. of water due to our extreme drop off.

We put two plainers down, one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a purple and brown sea witch in front of a double hook Bonito strip. For surface baits we had two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips and a Ballyhoo daisy chain for a teaser. We trolled from one artificial wreck to the other, criss-crossing the reefs while all of the "brothers" took turns catching the fish. All in all, the anglers reeled in a total of 15 Bonitos, 4 Kingfish, 5 Tunas and 1 Barracuda.

With happy smiles on all their faces, the anglers retired to the a/c salon for the short ride back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. Afterwards at the dock all the Tunas were fillet for diner and sushi.
