Lets Go Fishing In Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks
April 14, 2022
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, the fishing this week in Fort Lauderdale is absolutely fantastic tons of different species biting, I can't wait to tell you about it so here we go... Spring time fishing is here in fort Lauderdale and that means lots of fish biting too. Pretty much any species you can think of we are catching right now. On the offshore side of things we have been catching lots of tuna early morning and late afternoon in my opinion the afternoon trips right now are more successful on catching tuna, trolling remains the way to go for these guys while also fishing for tuna we have been catching a few wahoo not as many as I would like but we have been catching a few consistently. Mahi mahi have been around on days with strong easterly winds in depths out to 500 feet, not in quantity yet as It is early in the season for them but its nice to know that there is some around to catch. Moving on the inshore side of things kingfish as been somewhat plentiful on the edge of the reef, trolling with planners is very effective for the smaller kingfish, but live bait has been best if your looking for what we call a smoker king. Sailfish are still biting as well with live baits fished from a kite, any day that there seems to be a good current you can expect sailfish. Bottom fishing has been good on the wrecks for large gamefish like amberjacks and there has been a few snappers on the bottom as well. Lots of options of things to fish for right now in the Fort Lauderdale area thats why this is one of my favorite times to fish. This week make sure you check out some of our great pictures of recent catches caught during our deep sea fishing charters. Also remember to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfising for daily fishing content. If you coming to fort Lauderdale now is the time to go deep sea fishing we would love to have you and show you a great time on the water, it is our best time to go fishing so don't miss out! Capt.
