May Fishing

Capt. Mike Johnson
May 14, 2008
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

May fishing has started off with a bang. Sailfish continue to make frequent appearances. They just cant get enough of those goggle eyes under the kite. Not many people get the chance to catch one of these beautiful, fast and acrobatic gamefish and to do so is to be lucky. Big kings are also assaulting the live baits and trolled baits. Some wahoos have shown up in recent days and of course bonitas. Amberjacks still haunt the deep wrecks during their spawn. While most fish average around thirty pounds some giants pushing sixty or better have been pulled out. Sandbar and hammerhead sharks are still here in numbers, if your looking for a fight. Daytime swordfishing coincides with calmer weather and they are biting. Call Capt. MIke at 954 522 4773 to book your trip.
