October Fishing In Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks
October 7, 2021
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here. Man this week the fishing has been Hot Hot Hot! A fantastic report I have this week so here we go, this week there has been tons of fish biting and lots of variety as well. Inshore fishing on the reef has been very productive, trolling has been the best bet followed by live baiting as a close second. We recently just has a cold front off the coast of fort Lauderdale which this time of year is absolutely necessary for some great fishing to take place. This week there has been a great bite of mahi mahi and some very nice sized ones at that, they have been averaging around 10lbs, the mahi have been being caught around the 400 foot area which off the coast of Fort Lauderdale is somewhat close to shore, less then 3 miles. Floating debris remains key to really catching them good. Also this week there has been a great wahoo bite, early morning has been best and trolling has been the favorite technique, fishing baits under the surface with planners has been the ticket, also while wahoo fishing blackfin tuna has been prevalent as a by catch, last but not least we are starting to see some sailfish around which is a great sign for winter fishing coming soon, sailfish have been eating trolled baits on the surface, strip baits with mylar sea witches has been key but rigged ballyhoo have been working well also. All in all a great week of deep sea fishing in the Fort Lauderdale area. This week be sure to check out some of our great photos of recent catches we had on our deep sea fishing charters, coming up here we have some availability so if your in the Fort Lauderdale area and looking to do some deep sea fishing please check us out, as always remember to follow us on social media platforms like instagram and facebook @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos and pictures.
