Fishing Report for Ft. Lauderdale & Port Everglades

Capt. Cary Hanna
February 1, 2003
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

One day on, One day off.

Todays conditions were seas 1-2 feet and the winds were anywheres from 6-20 knots out of the WNW. Compared to yesterday the water was almost 1 degree colder as I measured 73.5 degrees surface tempurature. There was absolutely no current. We noticed the anchored ships were facing east and west in a perfect line. How sad! We need just a bit of current to get the bites, but as always the conditions change daily. We had 1 drag screamer who pulled the hook and a few other small slashers who thought it was cute to give us back our bait with just a chunk of meat on the hook. We stood by our hearty Tinker Mackerals for bait but no dice. We also got a very late start as lines were in at 10:30 am. Check back tomorrow, well be fishing again, this time 7 AM. Till next tide, Captain Cary Hanna
