Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dolphin Time
For the past few weeks the word has been Dolphin coming out of Ft. Lauderdale. last Saturday was an all day trip that brought us 12 miles out in search for Dolphin, the first 8 miles was spent heading east getting out of the storm. After fighting 6-8 foot seas with occasional 10 foot swells and rain, sometimes it was warm and sometimes it was cold, we finally made it to daylight for a couple of hours. We chased birds, ran through weed lines and headed back to shore without so many bites. The same day was the 15 street fisheries Dolphin slam, the winner came in with a 28 pound Dolphin he found 16 miles offshore, just a few more miles and we might of found him. During the week we had to dodge a few storms that came from the south, a few water twisters were around and were cool to look at but from a distance. Nature at its best! On the reef the Sailfish are scattered and the Kingfish are biting early in the morning. If you can make it out on the water by 7 am you should have some pretty good action. Plenty of Bonita are around and you might get a Blackfin Tuna mixed in. The weather has made it too challenging to go Swordfishing but the breezes are starting to lay down a bit and we'll be ready to head out to the shelf.
Gift certificates are available and make a great suprise, just inquire by e-mail.
Till next tide,
Captain Cary Hanna
