Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The week of the King
For the past week or so the fishing has been hit or miss. One day we are catching our limit in Kingfish, and then the next day we actually got skunked. But patience is the key this month as big fish are coming through our waters. We had the best Kingfish of the season come aboard yesterday weighing in at 46 pounds. What a big slob. He hit a big Speedo on the kite. He grabbed the bait and ran for over a 100 yards so fast, I didn't want to get tight until he started slowing down. Finally it was Claudio's turn to crank on the reel. With the line still attached to the clip there was a lot of reeling to do, but we finally got tight and got this guy to the boat. What a fish! You know you got a good fish when you have to put some serious muscle into lifting him into the boat.
We are in the favorable moon phase for Swordfishing right now! CALL me to make a reservation to take advantage of the hot bite going on right NOW. Reports of some big fish up to 200 pounds were reported from Saturday and Sunday of the past weekend. The weather should be favorable by friday night thrue the weekend.
See you on the water,
Capt. Cary Hanna
