Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Andy Roydhouse
June 4, 2003
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

It feels like summer already. Lots of rain and thunderstorms. Luckily it is building later in the day and letting me get on the water most mornings. The report has stayed the same for a while because much has stayed the same... until lately. Not loads of bites but some nice ones. We caught a 30.2 pound Blackfin on Monday, along with Kingfish and Bonita. Today we caught and released 2 Sailfish and a bonita in a couple of hours fishing. There has been a few other Sails taken lately too. The Dolphin we saw today were very small and we left them alone. Not bad action for this time of year and it is welcome.

Inshore, the main action has been Jack Crevalle. Some pretty good size ones too. A few Barracuda's are beating the Jacks to the bait. The bottom is putting a quick bend in the rod for those dropping down live shrimp. Many different species too.

Sea Ya,

Captain Ron Mallet
