Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Andy Roydhouse
October 4, 2006
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

It finally feels like we are getting a break from summers grip. Some northern breeze over the last week has broke up the humidity and storm patterns. This has showed on the water too. Lots of bait moving through this week. The fall run of fish has started, returning fish to our waters, and just in time. The action over the last few weeks has been on the slow side. We did get a few nice size Kingfish but had to go very deep to get them. The bottom is giving up some nice size Yellowtail Snapper when the current and drift lets you get a bait to the bottom. The inlet is holding some decent size Barracuda and they are jumping on the live baits.

Over the next few weeks the bite should really pick up. As we get into fall the fish will head south past our shores, and they will be hungry.

Sea Ya,
