Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Andy Roydhouse
November 23, 2006
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The last few days gave us a southern taste of what winter can do. The

morning temps hit the 40's and although I prefer warmer weather I know this is what is needed to get the fish here and feeding. It did produce as

expected. A few days ago we landed one of the biggest Cobia's I've seen. It was over 60 pounds, closer to 70. Today we released a few Sailfish, Bonita's and Kings. The sea's have been tolerable since the winds are coming from the west. I feel the bite will really turn on when it turns to the

north/northeast. The seas might build but so will the action with the rods.

Inshore the Jack Crevalles and Barracuda are taking the live baits quickly

once you find them. The inlet has lots of action with the tide movement and this should stay this way throughout the winter months.

As we get deeper into winter more fish will head south into our waters to

stay warm for the winter. As they pass by our inlet I'll be there to

intercept a few. Take a look at my website to get more info on how to join

me.

Have a safe and happy Thanks Giving!

Sea Ya,
