Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Andy Roydhouse
January 23, 2007
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather has booted a few more fish into our waters. The north is getting a taste of winter and that means the gamefish want to head south for warmer conditions. I was out of town for the weekend but before I left we had some great action. The Sailfish turned on mid week as the winds shifted northeast. We had 5 on and landed a few one morning with big Bonita's mixed in. Nearshore the Spanish Mackerel are biting and the inland waters are holding the always present Jack Crevalles and Barracuda. The key to success is to pick the right weather day, have fresh live bait and be paitient on the bite. If your luck holds out this can be a great time of year to be on the water!

Sea Ya,

Captain Ron Mallet
