Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Andy Roydhouse
August 22, 2007
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Smack in the middle of the summer and it feels it. The good news is that the fish bit pretty good during our last few trips. Offshore the Kingfish and Bonita are taking live pilchards a mile or so straight out front of our inlet. The Dolphin are there for the lucky few who stumble on them. It is hit or miss but just make sure you have a full fuel tank and don't stop until you see good water to fish. Inshore we had nonstop action this week with Jack Crevalle and Barracuda. The morning is best for this. One Cuda we caught weasured out at 54". Not bad for fishing in the city!

The winds were strong out of the east the last few days so that might help to push the fish closer to shore. Hopefully you wont need to go as far if you are looking for Dolphin and the Kings and Bonita should be right outside the dropoff.

Sea Ya,

Captain Ron Mallet
