Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The winter is here but not with a sting. We are getting very mild weather with temps in the mid 80's. This is great for playing outdoors but the fish are taking thier time making a big showing. We are picking at the Kingfish offshore. The Sailfish are here one day and gone the next three. It is a matter of picking the lucky day to get your shots. As the cold fronts get deeper south so will the fish in numbers.

Inshore we had lots of action with the Jack Crevalles. The size was not of record dimensions but we were using light tackle and having a blast. They were hungry and eating both live bait and jigs. The Barracuda bite is on when the tide is flowing and the live bait is dancing.

During the next few weeks we regulalry get our share of cold fronts. When we get into a pattern of 2 or 3 close together the consistent bite will pick up. Until then we are enjoying the warm weather and picking at the fish in comfort.
