Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fort Lauderdale fishing June/July

Fishing the past two months has been rather good, especially early morning or late afternoon when the sun is not so brutal. The early and late bite has brought lots of kings and bonitas to the boat. We did find a few late season blackfins to spice things up a bit. And the sandbar, spinner and hammerhead sharks are still making their presence known as well. It is often hard after working all week for the average angler to be up and on the water as the sunrises, but if he makes it his reward will come in large numbers of fish. The first hour or two of sunlight has been red hot only to shut down by 10 am. Dolphin are almost always eager biters but finding them offshore has been difficult lately. They are there it's just that they are WAY out there, any where from 20-30 miles offshore find the debris and find the fish.
