Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report
Fishing Report Week of 7/12-7/18
We have had consistant action this week on kingfish. I seems that every day they are here and are reliable as any time of the year. Most of the fish are in the 10-20 lb. range though we have caught some bigger fish out in the deep. The bigger fish spawn out deep on the full moon so the big ones are all staged up out there. We have also still had consistant action on the sailfish, we have been averaging one a trip. The wahoo action has seemed to pick up in the last day or two, though we haven't caught any since last weekend, the next week up till the full moon, the action should heat up even more. The blackfin tunas are still around and we caught one around 30lbs. on friday on a pilchard out in 200ft. Don't forget to try to scale down your tackle if you want some action from them. We have a hurrican Dean, sitting to the south of us and though its not going to hit us the winds are picking up, starting today(sat), and looks like it will be Tuesday before we start to have our calm summer pattern. Hopefully this wind will fire up the sailfish that are hanging around.
