Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Swordfish, Sailfish and Kingfish
We have still been catching the Swordfish. However they have not been as big as the last one. In the past 6 trip since August 22, we have caught 10 Swordfish. The smallest being 40 lbs and the largest being 120 lbs.
The fish have ben eating dead Squid and live Blue Runners. We fish the baits from 75' to 300' down. All with lightsticks.
We have been doing a lot of trolling the reef the past week. Bonita, King Mackerel and even a few Sailfish. Saturday it was blowing 15 out of the SE. We trolled South in 100' of water and caught a couple of Kings. We went out to 200' and caught 5 Dolphin and a Sailfish. The water was Blue and there wasn't much weed around. The Dolphin came out of nowhere. That same day, the other charter boats, all caught one to two Sailfish too.
We receive reports that one boat caught 29 sails in two days of Fowey light. They found the fish balling sardines in 200' to 350' of water.
The bottom fishing has been decent. We still catching a few Yellowtails and a grouper or two around the inshore wrecks (120')
We will be in the Boat Yard for the next two weeks, so don't look for us on the reef (or wrecks)
Caatch-em-up,
Capt. Kunta
