Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report
Sailfish!
The sailfish have been biting real good.
The weekend of the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (Oct. 28 to Nov. 3rd) we caught 5 sails a trip for 5 days straight!
Some of the fish were 10 to 15 lbs (5 1/2 feet long)and up to 65 lbs (7' long).
All of the fish were caught kite fishing with live Goggle Eyes for bait. We were anywhere from 110' of water out to 160' of water. The current one day would be going South and the next day is was North. It would depend on the wind.
The wind was mostly NE and the seas were moderate to
rough. (3 to 5' average)
We did catch of bunch of gaffer sized Dolphin (Mahi-mahi) each day. The wind was blowing them in to the edge. The water was blue and milky blue due to the winds.
There are a few Amberjacks still on the wreck and we did catch a few groupers there too.
Some scattered Kingfish on the reefs. Most of the Kingfish are eating live bait and are decent sized.
Lots of bullet sized Bonios on the reef too.
The Swordfish are still biting on the nights that you can get out. A few fish reported this week from 60 lbs to 350 lbs. A lot of bigger fish starting to show up!
Let's get out there!
Catch-em-up,
Captain Kunta
