Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

November 9, 2004
The fishing is Great!
This season is off to a great start. NE winds have pushed the Sailfish, Mahi-mahi, Wahoo and Sharks all within 2 miles of the beach! The bait continues to get pushed down the beach with lots of different game fish (Tarpon, Jacks, Mackerel and more) following them.
This week we have been live-baiting Goggle eyes out of the kite and it has been great. Sunday we caught a 40 lb Bull Dolphin (Mahi-mahi). Last week we caught a few Sailfish and Mahi-mahi on almost every trip.
We fished the IGFA kid’s tournament and Sean O’Brien caught a 8 lb King Mackerel and a 51.8 lb Wahoo to take top honors!
There are still a few Amberjacks, groupers and Bull Sharks on the wrecks!
We have had the best Swordfishing that we have seen in years. 3 to 7 bites a night last week on the calm nights that we could get out. We caught quite a few fish over 100 lbs and released a few under 100 lbs. All the boats out there are having great success.
The weather has been great with the temperature’s getting cooler and the winds have been just right. All we need now are a few people who want to go fishing and have fun!
Catch-em-up,
Captain Kunta
