Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Jan 2006

Well the people came to go fishing Christmas week and the fishing was red hot just before Christmas. We were booked every trip for 7 days starting after Christmas and we were really looking forward to catching lots of fish.

Well sometimes things don’t always go right. The fishing slowed down to a very slow pace and we had to work for every bite we got. We caught a couple of King Mackerel one trip a Sailfish and a Mahi-mahi the next trip. The next day we would catch a Hammerhead Shark and an Amberjack off of a wreck.

It was tough a week.

The other charter boats were having their struggles too. There were a few Mako Sharks caught and a few Sailfish. The King Mackerel and Bonitos were scarce on the reefs and the Mahi-mahi were very sparse..

The Swordfish were still biting, but it was slow for a couple nights and then red hot the past two nights.

We are still enjoying the fishing and the weather is great, so let’s go fishing.

Catch-em-up,

Captain Kunta
