Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report
End of June 2006 report
The Mahi-mahi fishing was still really good for the month. However, the past few days they have been pretty scarce. There has been a little bit of wind blowing and that should have brought the fish in closer to the reef. But there has not been too much seaweed around.
This week has produced many different kinds of fish every trip. On Monday we caught one Sailfish out of a double header. We had some big King Mackerels, Bonitos, Amberjacks and even a Mahi-mahi. Tuesday we had Kings, Bonitos, Amberjacks and Barracudas.
Last Sunday we caught a big Hammerhead Shark and some more King Mackerels. The few days before that, we caught a Wahoo each trip with some Mahi-mahi, King Mackerel and Bonitos mixed in.
With this nice weather and good fishing, everyday has been very enjoyable to go fishing.
There is a Swordfish Tournament this weekend and there should be 80 boats fishing this tournament. There should be some really nice fish caught.
Catch-em-up,
Captain Kunta
