Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Drift Fishing and Sport Fishing Report 1/25/07

The Catch My Drift came in with some great snapper catches this week. An 18 lb. genuine red snapper along with 40-50 vermillion, yelloweye, and blackfin snappers was Monday mornings catch. The past couple of days have been great for snapper. A couple of cobias have been caught these past few days as well. A 45lb. cobia was caught yesterday on the afternoon drift fishing trip.

Also on the drift boat, we've been doing good on our nighttime yellowtail anchor trip. Some very decent catches this week anchor fishing and chumming for the snappers. They taste so good!

For the Sportfishing boats, dolphin, sailfish and sharks have been whats on the menu. A few sailfish have been caught on the kite this week. 2 big hammerhead sharks were landed on sportfishing trips as well. The shark train is on its way... CHOOO CHOOO! Large dolphin have been caught in only 150'-250' of water. We've been catching them on the troll, one here one there. No schools of them, just a random big one every now and then. Our swordfishing trip should be going out this week. We have a couple seats open if anyone is interested. Check out my website for information on the trip. We didn't go out last week, but 1/12/07 we went out and caught 3 for 5 swords. The week before that we caught a 300 pounder. The swordfish are here, ya just have to go out and fish for 'em.

Until next week, keep fishing...
